the waffle iron

September 15th, 2006 at 08:14 pm

My mother hated her waffle iron. Course mom hates mornings period. But the old ones stuck easily and were hard to clean. Hubby was gone overnight to visit the college kids so I rummaged in the cabinet and found my waffle iron. Now, I love waffles. Thought it would be an inexpensive dinner. Turned out crispy and yummy. I think my waffle iron likes me. I intend to do this more often. Great way to save some money on food. Now, if I could just figure out why the bread machine I got as a gift hates me.....

I love crispy waffles too! Especially chocolate chip waffles Wink
I love my breadmaker for making dough - it always turns out perfect. I don't like it much for baking.

I'll try that! I think my SIL uses it to make cinnamon roll dough. She's the one who gave it to me. Maybe that's been my problem. I'll give it a try. Thanks!

Ditto to that. I haven't actually baked anything in my bread machine for years. I use it for dinner rolls, pizza dough, and cinnamon buns. Oh yeah, for stromboli too. I think the bread comes out better if you let it rise by hand and bake it in a regular oven.

Yeah, its funny how some pieces of equipment hate you and others love you. My laptop loves me, my PDA loves me, my MP3 mostly loves me (after it got its firmware updated), my scanner hates me, my printer is indifferent - the color toner cartridge hates me but the b/w cartridge finds me okay.
