Where did all these people come from?

November 5th, 2006 at 03:51 am

Went out today to get a couple of things and people were everywhere! I guess that all of us are getting started with Christmas. It was like a week in December with the traffic and the parking and the amount of people in the stores. I guess that after the hurricane last year, people were still recovering. So this year is a celebration that things are getting better. That's great.

Bought a few Christmas presents. I have a spreadsheet with the budget and everybody on it. I used to try to keep track on paper, but I had lists of my lists and things got wacky. I have to behave now that I have it organized. Got some good sales, too. This is going to be fun.

Got a call from my DS and DIL tonight. They bought me tickets for a musical that DS is playing music for in a couple of weeks. I can't wait. It's cool when your kids actually want to see you.

Used my new household maintenance fund to buy stuff to fix a bathroom. Still need to get the plumber in for the rest of it. Nice to have a little money set aside to do something. I honestly think someone on this site removed my brain and replaced it with a different Frugal brain. Thanks!..I'm learning to use it....

The spreadsheet is really a great idea! You can keep track of costs, where it was bought, etc!! Way to go!Smile

Actually I think doing a reverse spreadsheet would be cool for us fruggies - coming home from various holiday events keeping track of what gift was from whom! Regifting then becomes not a matter for memory but just checking your records... "Now which of my loved ones gave me this lefthandedfreblefroctor???????"

janh, you only get the super-frugie brain for 3 months, then you have to pass it on. then at the end of the year someone needs to mail it to jeffery so he can toss it in a well in japan.

    *chuckle snort*

Lux: That's a great idea to keep track of what you GET from whom. My mom is always wondering who gave her what gift cos she like to tell people later on what she is doing with the gift. And you're right, this way you could also send something that you won't use to someone else without problem.
tina: I'm not sure I'll learn enough in 3 months to return the brain. I've got a long way to go!

there is a company (cheap a$$ games) that makes a boardgame called "Who's Got the Brain?" the premise: you're a zombie working in a burger joint w/ other zombies, and there's only 1 brain btwn all of you. you have to have the brain to get your job done. it's weird, but for a $3-5 game it's entertaining!

Ugh. I noticed that the traffic in general has picked up considerably. The beginning of the holiday craze I suppose.

If you haven't noticed, I don't care for the hustle and bustle. Stick Out Tongue
