Easter?

October 26th, 2006 at 09:28 pm

Okay, so I'm cleaning out the fridge and in the chocolate stash I find--part of a dark chocolate Easter bunny. I know as a kid we didn't get much candy so instead of eating it all real quick like my DB, I made it last and last and last. Easter to Halloween and vice versa. Most of the time, I had to throw stuff out. Wonder what happened to me. I need to go back to that making it last stuff. DB now is very frugal with everything. It's like we switched bodies. Oh well, I tested the bunny. He tasted good. So in the spirit of non-wasting frugality--I ate em.

what, there's chocolate that needs to be disposed of? where can i sign up???

my mom always chops up older chocolate and mixes it into cake batter or (yum!) pancake batter.

yummy...I love chocolate chip pancakes. I just ran across a recipe too for making cake with melted ice cream. We could all have a lot of fun cleaning up the fridge and freezer...come to think of it, I've still got some chocolate wedding favors in our fridge...

Chocolate is definitely a non-Chinese treat that we picked up on rather quickly! On a recent trip back to Taiwan, I "introduced" my nephews to chocolate truffles; now they keep asking for them! (too bad its so expensive to ship them overseas on a regular basis)
