Another one bites the dust....

Yipee! Already paid off DS's old gas card and closed the account. Since I started here, I targeted my DD's old gas card. Had a couple hundred balance and I have been saving the odd dollar in an account to pay it off. Last month I paid a bit less than half of it. Today, I got the bill and realized I had enough to pay it of totally. Going, going, gone! Couldn't wait. Wrote a check and ran that bad guy down to the post office and shot it off. This is an account I am going to close. Now, the target is my DS's old mastercard. He had one to buy recital music and stuff online and has an old music trip he took on it. I have just been too lazy to pay it off. It has about 1350 on it. It is now in my sights and on the bull's eye....

    Actually, these are connected to old college expenses. We decided that we wanted to help them through the undergraduate school process. DS had scholarships and parttime work. DD is finding her way. We expect that she will start working again in the near future. She hates not having her own money and spending ours.

    Coolest mom in my book. My parents wouldn't even help with a down payment towards a first car to get to school/work when I was a younger. Freeing up those obligations for them because you can is definately giving them a leg up in being able to save for their futures. Will you be my mom?! LOL

    awesome work jan! like marking days off a calendar, only a lot more gratifying i would think...
